The figures are cut to silhouette and pasted on grey paper sheets. He is reading a book, presumably the Koran; to the right, a monument with a tower (mosque?). The accompanying text reads, 'Mahometan priest or fakiers. Worship Mahomet. Language Arabic and Hindoostanee. Wives kept at home'.
