The figures are cut to silhouette and pasted on grey paper sheets. Both are richly dressed; the man holds a sword in his right hand, while the woman holds a closed fan (apparently) in each hand. The man also holds a flower and a reddish-brown package (of perfumed powders?). The accompanying text reads, 'Tulucar, otherwise called Moorish cast. Worship Mahomet. Language Moorish and Hindustanee. Reside on the coast. Wives like all Moorman kept strictly at home. Man going about the streets selling all kinds of smelling powders and waters which they prepare themselves'.
