Robson is best known for oils dedicated to ships and the sea, as well as the landscape around Dollar, where he lived for many years. He said that his artistic influences were eclectic. This painting shows one of the wooden wharves near the entrance to the Wet Dock in Alloa, with the small fishing boats lying on the mud at low tide. The Wet Dock was closed in 1960 and filled in with rubble and the wharves are now very dilapidated.
