A full-length, seated allegorical figure of the Arts is looking at a book on a table to the left on which is also sheet music, a set square and an armillary sphere. The right elbow rests on the table and the hand holds another open book. A tall sword and palette and paint brushes rest against the plinth in bottom left corner, with a violin in the right corner. The young man is dressed in long, golden, brocade robes and wears a laurel wreath. His left leg rests on a rock and reveals a gold-trimmed, protective sandal.
