A larger than life-size statue of Alfred Lord Tennyson with his dog. Tennyson is wearing a long coat with cape over his shoulders. He holds his hat in one hand and in the other he is holding a small plant which he is looking at, as is the dog – this relates to the inscription on the plaque on the ashlar pedestal. The statue was restored in 1970.
