Alan Teulon, a chartered Land Surveyor, became Northamptonshire County Council's Head of Countryside Services in 1974. His mission was to develop countryside access for all in a county furthest from the sea and where there was little public access. Setting up country parks, Brampton Valley Way and pocket parks required much collaboration between many organisations to accomplish the mission of a countryside for all. Alan collaborated closely with the Countryside Commission who provided funding for some of the projects including an outstanding Ranger Service who worked closely with the community.

The Teulon family have chosen to donate the sculpture now to coincide with Alan’s 90th birthday on 21st June 2024.
