The garden depicted here is the Old Recreational Ground in Lambeth High Street, formerly an additional burial ground for nearby St Mary’s, formerly the parish church and now the Garden Museum. The space is shown here as an asphalted urban park with Second World War brick bomb shelters either side of a young boy. The old Mortuary Chapel can be seen through the gate piers.
