A large ballroom with a crowd of people dressed in 18th century court costumes. A large, circular archway, framed by two big antique vases, gives view to another room with more people and a large, crowded staircase in the background. A double door is in the middle at the top of the stairs. A man in a priest's robe (?) and cap sits in the right corner in the foreground. Engraver's (?) signature 'W. Barker' in the lower left corner.
