This is a wheel cover from a Fairey Swordfish aircraft of 836 Squadron of the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm. 836 Squadron was split into many flights, each one serving in a Merchant Aircraft Carrier (MAC-Ship), escorting Atlantic convoys during World War II. A member of 836 has decorated the cover with the squadron's badge, a winged lion.
