Painter, collage artist, draughtsman and teacher, born in Swansea where he first worked as a draughtsman with a firm of reinforced concrete engineers before war service abroad. In 1946 he did a short course at Academy of Art in Florence, then attended Swansea College of Art, 1946–51, remaining for a short period to lecture. For four years from 1952 Williams was a draughtsman with the Whitefriars Stained Glass Studio and then began a series of teaching posts, mainly in the Swansea area. Showed with Swansea Art Society; Howard Roberts Gallery in Cardiff; and in other mixed shows with SWG, SEA and at Royal National Eisteddfod. Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, Swansea, gave Williams a retrospective in 1996. He was noted for his architectural drawings and watercolours.
