Painter in oil and watercolour, born and settled in Burnley, Lancashire. Studied at the Art School there, then at Slade School of Fine Art under William Coldstream. After gaining his diploma in 1955 took up an Abbey Major Scholarship to Rome. From 1957 showed extensively through the north of England, including John Moores Liverpool Exhibitions. In 1957 Wild’s Standing Nude was included in Jack Beddington’s book Young Artists of Promise. Wild, who also showed at RA and Woodstock Gallery, was interested in figurative or realist painting, Vermeer and Cézanne being cited as influences. Arts Council, Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool and Manchester City Art Gallery hold examples.
