Painter who taught engineering, whose father was a draughtsman. He studied at Manchester’s College of Technology, with art tuition at Bury School of Art. Was a leading member of Rochdale and Bury Art Societies and in 1960s and 1970s showed in Lancashire galleries with Colin Hilton’s Lancashire Group of Artists. Other venues were MAFA, RBA and widely in the provinces and had a series of solo exhibitions. Public collections in Burnley, Bury, Halifax and Leamington Spa hold examples. Lived in Rochdale, Lancashire.
