Artist in egg tempera, pencil, watercolour and oil, born in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. He studied at Stourbridge College of Art, on a foundation course, 1971–2, then obtained an honours degree in art and design, Wolverhampton Polytechnic, 1972–6, when he became a full-time artist. Was a member of Leicester Society of Artists, showing at Stamford Artists’ Gallery from 1980; Piccadilly Gallery from 1981; RA Summer Exhibitions from 1983; Goldmark Gallery, Uppingham, from 1988; and in 1991 appeared in East Midlands Artist of the Year, first prize winner in drawing and miniature painting. Solo shows included Dudley Art Gallery, 1979, and Birmingham University from the same year; E M Flint Gallery, Walsall, 1980, and Midland Arts Centre from same year; and Alfred East Gallery, Kettering, 1988.
