Sculptor and teacher trained at Coventry College of Art, 1955–62, who taught there and elsewhere, including Stoke Park Community College. His work was widely displayed in the Midlands, especially in Coventry. Fine bronze examples include the dynamic Phoenix, 1983, commissioned by the city’s planning and redevelopment committee and sited in the city centre, and the more abstracted Millennium, installed in 1999 at the entrance of Coundon Court School, which commissioned it. Wagstaffe was based in Allesley, Warwickshire.
