Sculptor in bronze, married to the artist Philip Hicks, noted for her portraits. She obtained her diploma from Slade School of Fine Art, 1954, teachers including F E McWilliam. Was made an associate of RBS. Was associated with New Grafton Gallery’s portrait centre, portraits including HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, TRH The Prince of Wales and The Princess of Wales, the violinist Iona Brown and the actor Gerald Harper. Had solo shows at Marjorie Parr Gallery, 1967; Compendium Gallery, Birmingham, 1975; Lad Lane Gallery, Dublin, 1978; and Quinton Green Gallery, 1987. HM The Queen holds her work as do a number of corporate and regimental collections. Lived in Oxfordshire. Tweed’s vital drawings and bronzes of animals resting and in action were included in Messum’s 2005 show Sculpture at Lordswood, Marlow.
