Painter who studied at Sidcup School of Art and Royal College of Art, becoming an associate and a professional artist in 1951. Was elected RA in 1991 and lived at Pluckley, near Ashford, Kent. The county’s countryside was depicted by Titchell using a personal, colourful, shimmering Pointillism, latterly especially in watercolour. There was a retrospective at the Metropole Arts Centre, Folkestone, in 1999. In 2003, Titchell was included in Landscape and Light at Royal Museum & Art Gallery, Canterbury.
