Thomas Swimmer (b.1932)

University of Warwick
Painter, designer and draughtsman, born in Dieppe, France. He studied art at Heatherley’s School of Fine art with Iain Macnab, 1948–50, then at the Royal Academy Schools, 1950–6, his teachers including Peter Greenham and Bernard Fleetwood Walker. Won a RA Gold Medal in 1955. Showed at RA, Redfern and Piccadilly Galleries and in the provinces. Leicester County Council bought his work. Worked for a time for BBC Television and lived in London.
