Painter and teacher, born in Lincolnshire. Between 1961–9 he studied at Hull College of Art and Royal College of Art. He went on to lecture extensively in art schools throughout Britain, including Slade School of Fine Art and Newcastle University, for some time being head of painting at Manchester Polytechnic. His paintings were exhibited in mixed shows from 1969, notably Big Paintings for Public Places at RA. Had a solo show at Serpentine Gallery, 1976. He wrote for magazines Artscribe and Art and Artists. Ferens Art Gallery, Hull, and other public collections hold his work.
