Sculptor, born in Newcastle upon Tyne, who attended West Hartlepool College of Art, 1960–2; Hornsey College of Art, 1962–4; and the Royal College of Art, where he graduated, 1973–4. Group shows included Berkeley Square Gallery, 1992; Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, Swansea, 1993; four artists at RBS, 2000; RA Summer Exhibition, from 1998; and Gallery One, Barnes, 2003–4. In 2005, Stockwell was an Artist of the Day at Flowers Central, chosen by Allen Jones.
