Painter, notably of flowers, born in East Molesey, Surrey. She studied at Corcoran School of Art in Washington, America, at the School of Design in Philadelphia, and in Paris. She was a member of RBA, SWA of which she was vice-president, RMS and RI as well as the Society of Artists in St Ives, Cornwall. Smith lived for many years in St Ives and acted as curator for Lanham’s Art Gallery in the High Street, although she retained a base in London. Also exhibited at RA, NEAC, RCamA and ROI. In 1955 she published Flower Painting in Watercolour. Died of natural causes in her bed at 1 Piazza Studios, St Ives.
