Painter, printmaker, textile and photographic artist and teacher, born in Warsaw, Poland. After the German invasion, she remembered “being frightened and hungry and escaping into the unknown with my parents, through vast fields”. Her mother’s request for her to paint some Christmas cards started her interest in art, and she attended the Technical College of Art and the Academy of Art in Gdansk. Visited England in 1958 and was able to study at St Martin’s School of Art, obtaining her further education teacher’s certificate from Trent Polytechnic, Nottingham, 1973. Bringing up a family meant shelving her artistic interests, but on returning to them she became a frequent exhibitor. Later group shows included Ebury Gallery, 1982; Galleria el Talla, Lima, Peru, 1984; Pratt Manhattan Center Gallery, New York, and Brixton Art Gallery, both 1985; Open Print Exhibition, Bankside Gallery, 1988; and Oxford Art Society, Museum of Modern Art, Oxford, 1992.
