Performance artist, born in London, married to Jessica Voorsanger, also known as Jessica Voorsanger-Brill. He was the son of the artists Frederick Brill and Deirdre Borlase and was included in the Brill family exhibition Relative Values, The Smith Art Gallery & Museum, Stirling, 1993. He studied at the University of Reading, 1981–5, winning a Rome Prize in the latter year. Gained a Harkness Fellowship with the Cooper Union School of Arts and Sciences, New York, America, 1988–90. After Brill’s solo exhibition I want children’s TV: I want children’s TV banned, at Sue Williams Gallery in 1991, Brill turned from the painted image to satirical performance. He invented Bob Smith and simulated game shows in which members of the audience participated using his Home Sculpture System.
