Painter and teacher who studied at Beckenham School of Art, Royal College of Art and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy, 1952. He taught in Leeds, Middlesbrough and Kingston, Jamaica, 1959–63. His shows included the RA Summer Exhibition. Hove Museum & Art Gallery holds his atmospheric Italian Station Café. Sawyers lived for a time in Lawn, Gillingham, Dorset. The Blue Rider Gallery, Mere, latterly showed his work.
