Painter, draughtsman and teacher, born in Birmingham. Student at Wimbledon School of Art, 1933–7, under Gerald Cooper and Robert Baker, then at Royal College of Art, 1937–40, with Gilbert Spencer, Barnett Freedman and Percy Horton. At the Royal College he was a silver medallist and scholarship winner. Exhibited RA, NEAC and RBA. For a short time after World War II he taught at Guildford School of Art, moving to Epsom and Ewell School of Art in 1947. Lived in Puttenham, Surrey.
