Painter, draughtsman and teacher, noted for his still life paintings of meticulous exactness. He was born in Portsmouth, Hampshire, and from 1949–52 studied at Slade School of Fine Art, then went on to teach in art schools in Britain and America. His mixed-show appearances included Four Artists at Bradford City Art Gallery and John Moores Exhibition in Liverpool, both in 1961; British Painters in Skopje, Yugoslavia, 1964; Angela Flowers Gallery, 1984; and in 1985 Still Life/New Life, an Arts Council touring show. Had a solo show at Lane Gallery, Bradford, 1963, from 1983 showing one-man at Mercury Gallery. There was a still life exhibition at Bohun Gallery, Henley-on-Thames, 2001, and a substantial show of drawings and paintings, including some of his London Underground series, at The Millinery Works, 2003, with another exhibition at Scolar Fine Art that year.
