Painter in oil, printmaker and sculptor, born in Oxford, who attended Salisbury College of Art, 1980–1, and Goldsmiths’ College School of Art, 1981–4, notable teachers being Adrian Ryan, Joan Key and Leonard McComb. Riisager (pronounced Rissayger, hard g), was influenced by Corot, William Nicholson and Dutch master-painters. “I would like to imagine myself producing paintings that would be, like plain food, enjoyable every day; neither hot nor cold, sweet or sharp, happy or sad.” Group shows included Salisbury Playhouse, 1996, and sculpture at Richard Salmon Gallery, 1997. He showed solo at Summerleaze Gallery, East Knoyle, from 1993, and Tryon & Swann, 1999. Lived at Tisbury, Wiltshire.
