Versatile painter, draughtsman and ceramist, sister of the artist Margaret Mee, she was born in Chesham, Buckinghamshire. Spent several years at Watford School of Art. Prower travelled to much of Europe, especially to the Mediterranean countries, Asia, Africa and South America. For many years she had a house at Molini-di-Triora, in the Ligurian Mountains of north Italy. Sketches made on her travels were worked up into larger oils at her studio in Hampstead, north London, where she had a kiln and made ceramics and held annual shows. Exhibitions also included Collectors’ Gallery, 1962; John Whibley Gallery, from 1963; St Albans Gallery, in St Albans, from 1965; Gordon Maynard, Welwyn Garden City, from 1968; and Burgh House.
