From 1973–92 Priestman worked as a potter while painting and sculpting, from 1993 concentrating on paintings and collages. He said that what he produced was “concerned with object and space: juxtaposition. I am inspired by landscape, still-life, surface, old buildings, doorways and the patina of age. Sculpting and building with wood, concrete, stone. Heraldry and road signs.” England & Co showed Priestman’s work.
