Painter and teacher, born in Hayle, Cornwall, whose subject was the local landscape, notably around Newlyn where he had a studio. Attended Falmouth School of Art and Brighton College of Arts and Crafts, 1960–4, then returned to Cornwall to teach in Penzance, in 1980 becoming head of art at Humphry Davy School. Was a member of Newlyn Society of Artists and Penwith Society of Arts, showing widely in Cornwall, London and Brittany. His painting Approaching the Scillies was included in the 1989 Newlyn Orion Galleries exhibition A Century of Art in Cornwall 1889–1989. There was a solo show at the Penwith Galleries, St Ives, in 2000.
