Printmaker, architect, watercolourist, writer and lecturer, born in London. Trained as an architect with his father’s firm; won RIBA’s Soane Medallion in 1900; then continued practising as an architect until World War I, when served with Royal Flying Corps. In 1912 he published English Mediaeval Architecture, in two volumes. After the war he left his wife and children and with the artist Sybil Andrews enrolled at Grosvenor School of Modern Art, where he eventually taught. He had done some teaching at University College and Goldsmiths’ College before the war. By now Power was busy as a printmaker and watercolourist, showing at pioneering Redfern Gallery print exhibitions in 1930s. Also exhibited RA, RBA, Goupil Gallery and Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts during his career.
