Figurative sculptor in a traditional style, born in Reading, Berkshire. He was educated at University College in Reading and at Royal College of Art, where he was a Royal Exhibitioner, teachers including Édouard Lantéri. He was elected RSA in 1922 and a fellow of RBS in 1927, was a member of Scottish Arts Club and head of sculpture at Edinburgh College of Art. Showed at RA, Paris Salon, Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts and Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. His Fountain Group and In Remembrance (Buck Memorial, Edinburgh) are illustrated in the 1939 volume RBS: Modern British Sculpture. Lived latterly in Rushden, Hertfordshire.
