Portrait, nude and still life painter in the representational tradition, born in York. He did a foundation course at York College of Art, 1979–80, gaining an honours degree in fine art, painting, at St Martin’s School of Art, 1980–3. Group exhibitions included RP, John Player Awards at National Portrait Gallery and St James’ Art Group. Had a solo show at Jonathan Wylder Gallery, 1996. Commissions included Viscount Whitelaw. The Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders Collection holds Platt’s work.
