
Painter, printmaker and designer, born in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Studied at Liverpool School of Art, 1941–5, under Will Penn and in Paris at L’Académie de la Grande Chaumière. He exhibited St James’ Art Society in London, otherwise mainly in the north of England, at public galleries in Salford, Liverpool (where he was a member of the Academy), and Manchester. Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, where he lived, holds his work.
