Painter and teacher, born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, mother of the artist Sandra Pepys. She studied at Collegiate School of Arts and Crafts in Port Elizabeth, winning the Silver Medal in 1934. She was notable for her portraits, which included one of her husband, Professor Jack Pepys, for London University. Showed with Hampstead Artists’ Council, Leicester Galleries, RP, RA and elsewhere in Britain in mixed shows, as well as in South Africa, also having solo exhibitions, including Barbican Centre, 1982. Lived in London.
