Painter, designer and illustrator who studied at Bristol College of Art, 1973, then graduated in graphic design at Canterbury College of Art, 1974–7. Penoyre began as a freelance graphic artist and illustrator, working for such publishers as Heinemann, Pan Books and Macdonald Publishing. In 1990 she shared an exhibition at John Hunt Galleries, of Brightling, also showing there in mixed exhibitions, and at Rye Society of Artists, 1991, and Hastings Art Gallery & Museum in 1992. Later group shows included RA Summer Exhibition, 1995 and 1996, Cranbrook Art Show, Vestry Hall, Cranbrook, and Winter Fair, Headcorn Gallery, Headcorn, both 2002. Among her solo exhibitions were Colour and Light, Sevenoaks Library Gallery, 1999, and Earth Colours, Stables Gallery, Hastings, 2001, not far from where she lived at Heathfield.
