He was born in Rustington, Sussex, attending Chelsea School of Art, 1958–63, and Royal College of Art, 1963–6, winning several prizes. Then taught and lectured extensively, from 1977 at Manchester Polytechnic/Metropolitan University. Mixed shows included Young Contemporaries, 1964; LG, 1965; John Moores Liverpool Exhibition, 1972; RA Summer Exhibition, from 1983; Vortex Gallery, 1986; and Brick Lane Open, 1993. His work is held by Arts Council, Liverpool University and Bedfordshire Arts Loan Collection. The artist’s output presented odd, compelling images, sometimes based on apparently unpromising sources such his 1987 series related to word processors.
