Painter and teacher. She won a diploma in painting at Slade School of Fine Art, 1973–7, in the latter year gaining the Steer Prize for drawing and Boise Scholarship to travel and paint. From 1988 lectured part-time at Slade. Patterson appeared from 1977 in mixed shows at Browse & Darby; from 1979 at RA Summer Exhibition; in 1983 at Ogle Fine Arts, Cheltenham, in Painting the Nude; in 1985 in Three Gloucestershire Painters at Axiom Gallery, Cheltenham; and in 1991 in The Prose of Painting at Austin/Desmond Fine Art. Solo exhibitions included Lionel Wendt Gallery, Colombo, Sri Lanka, 1978; Egypt Mill, Nailsworth, 1983; and Nicoll Centre, Cirencester, 1987. Worked in Gloucestershire and London.
