Painter, born in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, creating abstract landscapes that were described as “both dramatic and elemental.” She did a foundation course at Oxfordshire Polytechnic, 1984–5, gaining an honours degree in fine art, Winchester School of Art, 1985–8. Many group shows included The Arthouse, 1989; RA Summer Exhibition, 1994; The Byard Gallery, Nottingham, 1995; Art First, from 1996; Roseberg & Kaufman, SoHo, New York, America, 1998; Original Print Gallery, Dublin, 1999; and RWA Open, 2003. Among her later solo shows were Art First, 1995; Gomez Gallery, Baltimore, America, 1998; and Royal United Hospital, Bath, 2003. In 2004, she shared an exhibition with Felicity Keefe at Six Chapel Row Contemporary Art, Bath. Reuters, London, Pfizer, New York, and Premier Steel, Dublin, hold Parkin’s work.
