Painter and illustrator, born in London, who studied at Hornsey School of Art, 1938–9; Salisbury School of Art, 1939–41; then Bournemouth College of Art, 1941–2. She was a member of NS and PS, also showing with ROI and RP, being noted for her portraits. These included Dame Alicia Markova the ballerina; Susan Hampshire the actress; and two Lord Mayors of London, Sir David Rowe-Ham and Sir Greville Spratt. Palmer illustrated J B Priestley’s first children’s book, Snoggle. Her work is held by Guildford Borough collection. She lived at Wonersh, Surrey.
