Painter, mainly self-taught, born in Ashton-under-Lyne, Manchester. He began painting in the Pennines, where he grew up, but moved to Cornwall in 1965 and then became noted for depictions of its landscape. Ogden favoured a figurative style and completed a number of domestic scenes based on his own home and family. He was included in RWA’s Artists from Cornwall, 1992, and had solo exhibitions in London, Newlyn, Exeter, Falmouth and Penzance, as well as showing in the north of England, including Atkinson Art Gallery, Southport, and Liverpool University. Ogden was a member of Newlyn Society of Artists. Work by Ogden is held by Y Tabernacl, Machynlleth, in its permanent collection.
