Painter and illustrator, whose work is often of a highly decorative type, born at Harrow, Middlesex. Father was the painter and writer Hume Nisbet, and she married the artist Harry Bush. Nisbet studied at Royal College of Art, where she won three gold medals and the Princess of Wales’ Scholarship, established in 1863 to reward the most distinguished female art student in the United Kingdom and what is now the Republic of Ireland. She exhibited RA, RI extensively, ROI, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, in the provinces and abroad. Newport Museum and Art Gallery holds her work. She also illustrated a number of books, including several of Russian fairy tales. Lived in London.
