Abstract sculptor and teacher, born in Bacup, Lancashire. He attended Rochdale College of Art, 1966–8; Ravensbourne College of Art, 1968–71; and Slade School of Fine Art, 1971–3. Gained an Arts Council Minor Award, 1976. From 1973 Nicholas held a number of part-time lectureships, including Goldsmiths’ College and Kingston Polytechnic. Took part in many mixed shows, including Sculpture in the Park, Ealing, 1972; LG from 1973; Ikon Gallery, Birmingham, 1978; Annely Juda Fine Art from 1979; and Wapping Artists Open Studios from 1982. London Borough of Tower Hamlets picture library holds his work. Lived for a time in London.
