Painter of flowers and portraits, born in Hawick, Roxburghshire. After education at George Watson’s Ladies College, Edinburgh, she studied at Edinburgh College of Art and Heriot-Watt College Art School, her teachers including John Campbell Mitchell and James Riddel. Exhibited RA, RSA, RSW, SSA and elsewhere. Muir joined the Glasgow Society of Lady Artists in 1901, winning its Lauder Award in 1923, and the RSW in 1916. Kelvingrove Art Gallery, Glasgow, holds her work. Lived in Edinburgh.
