Sculptor in a variety of materials, married to the artist Charles Bone. She was educated in Farnham, Surrey, near where she settled at Puttenham, and studied at the School of Art there, 1946, with Charles Vyse. Also attended Guildford School of Art, 1947, with Willi Soukop, and Royal College of Art, 1948–51, teachers including John Skeaping and Frank Dobson. Royal Worcester Porcelain commissioned her designs. Mitchell was a fellow of RBS and a member of SPS, becoming president. Showed also at RA, NEAC, Ashgate Gallery in Farnham and Furneaux Gallery. Had a series of solo shows, including Ashgate Gallery, Gainsborough’s House, Sudbury, and University of Surrey, Guildford, 1994.
