Painter, born in Lahore, Pakistan. He was trained in the art of Indian miniature and drew inspiration from Dubuffet and Klee and the art of children. He obtained an honours degree with distinction at National College of Arts, Lahore, 1986, completed a miniature painting course in Jaipur, India, in 1988, then obtained master’s degree in painting at Royal College of Art, London, in 1991. From the start of the 1990s appeared in group shows in Britain and abroad, and had a solo exhibition at Mina Renton Gallery, 1992. Won a number of awards, including British Council Award for postgraduate studies, 1989–91; Royal College Award for Studio Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris, and Maclennan Prize, 1990; and Punjab Painting Prize, 1991. National Art Gallery, Islamabad, holds his work.
