Sculptor in bronze, writer, born in London. Studied at Hammersmith School of Art, 1947–54, with Leon Underwood and Keith Godwin, then Royal College of Art, 1956–60, under John Skeaping, Robert Carruthers and Ralph Brown. Became a fellow and president of RBS. Among several works on the technique of sculpture were Sculpture in Concrete, The Technique of Casting for Sculpture, and Modelling the Figure and Head. John W Mills – sculptor and printmaker was an illustrated booklet on his work published by the artist in 1994. Showed at AIA; Pollock Gallery, Toronto; Alice Simsar Gallery, Michigan; Madden Gallery; Robin Gibson Gallery, Sydney; Galerie Cassiope, France; Alwin Gallery; Beaux Arts Gallery, Bath; King Street Gallery; Minories, Colchester; and Jonathan Poole Fine Art, Oxfordshire.
