Painter, born in Melbourne, Australia, who worked under her maiden name of Dora Meeson. She married the artist George Coates, of whom she wrote a memoir. She began to study art while living in Melbourne, then in England attended the Slade School of Fine Art, under Henry Tonks, going to Paris to study at the Académie Julian. Exhibited ROI, RA, RSA, SWA and Paris Salon, where she gained an Hon. Mention. The National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, Port of London Authority and many Australian galleries hold her work. Lived in London.
