Landscape and coastal painter, born in Leeds, Yorkshire, who attended Scarborough College and Skipton Grammar School. He studied art with James Wright and developed a style in the Scottish Colourist tradition. McIntyre was a member of RCamA, also exhibiting at Phoenix Gallery in Lavenham, NWG, CASW and Royal National Eisteddfod. Had a long series of solo exhibitions starting at Howard Roberts Gallery in Cardiff, 1965–6, later with Thackeray Gallery from 1969. There was a retrospective at Oriel Ynys Mon, Llangefni, 1996. The Albany Gallery, Cardiff, showed seascapes and landscapes of north Wales in 2002, with other exhibitions at Attic Gallery, Swansea, 2003, and Albany Gallery, 2004. WAC, National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth and public galleries in Birkenhead, Newport, Merthyr Tydfil and Southport hold examples.
