Artist, born in Glasgow, who attended the School of Art there, 1953–7. Prizes included the Torrance, May Marshall Brown, Latimer, Guthrie, Glasgow Civic Art and Scottish Arts Club Awards. McIntosh was a member of RSW and Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, also showing at RA, SSA, Cyril Gerber Fine Art in Glasgow, Thompson’s Gallery and Ainscough Contemporary Art. In 2002, at Thompson’s Marylebone, McIntosh shared an exhibition with his son Sandy. By that time Archibald Dunbar McIntosh’s canvases, with their distorted perspectives and fanciful motifs, had received wide recognition as a result of frequent British, German and American exhibitions, had been commissioned and were in many public collections. Panter & Hall gave McIntosh a solo exhibition in 2003.
