Artist and teacher, notable for studies in pastel, who also worked in embroidery and collage, born in Kirkintilloch, near Glasgow, where she settled. She attended the School of Art, 1971–6, under David Donaldson, gaining a post-diploma and travelling scholarship to Paris, then lectured part-time at Glasgow University from 1986 and at Glasgow School of Art, 1990–2. From 1990 was a member of the Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts. Had a solo show at Peter Potter Gallery in Haddington, 1984, later ones including Roger Billcliffe Fine Art, Glasgow, from 1992, and Garden Poems JohnMartinChelsea, 2003. Won a series of awards, including Scottish Arts Council, Glasgow Society of Women Artists, Lauder and N S Macfarlane. Scottish Arts Council and various corporate collections hold examples.
